Eagle
Hose Company #1 was incorporated on August 27, 1892.
Today, the company is one of the most recognized
departments in the area.
-
We provide fire
suppression and rescue services to our community 24
hours a day, 365 days a year while being
100% Volunteer.
We also provide Mutual
Aid to many surrounding communities.

The department currently has an active membership
comprised of 60 members under the direction of Fire
Chief Richard Chowanec.

We are currently recognized by the PA State Fire
Commissioner
as an
organization that supports, promotes and encourages
their emergency response personnel to voluntarily
certify within the Commonwealth's Certification Program.

We have a Junior Fire Department Program open to
individuals ages 15-17.

Our meetings are held on the first and third Monday's of
the month at our fire station at 7 pm. The
administrative body is led by President Richard Chowanec.

The Borough of Dickson City is located in Northeastern
Pennsylvania approximately 2 hours to our State Capital
(Harrisburg), the City of Philadelphia as well as New
York City.

Dickson City is bordered by the City of Scranton, the
townships of South Abington and Scott, as well as the
Boroughs of Blakely, Throop and Olyphant.

Our community is approximately 5.2 square miles with a
population of just over 6600 residents. During
commercial retail hours the population more than
doubles.

Today Dickson City is one of the fastest growing
commercial areas in Northeastern Pennsylvania with the
many shopping plazas, restaurants and shopping malls.
